How will I fund my claim?
If you have legal expenses insurance, via your car insurance, credit card contents cover or trade union membership, the cost of funding a claim will be met by your legal expenses insurer.
Alternatively you can enter into a Conditional Fee Agreement, also known as “No win No fee” agreement.
What will happen if the person who caused my car accident doesn’t have insurance or drove away?
In these circumstances, you should be compensated for your injuries by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB).
Are there any time limits in which to make a claim?
In most cases such as road traffic accidents, accidents at work and slipping and tripping accidents, you have 3 years from the date of the accident to pursue a claim. If you are under 18 when the accident occurred, you then have 3 years from the date of your 18th birthday day to bring a claim.
How quickly will my claim be settled?
Each case is different and will depend on the individual circumstances. The majority of road traffic accidents in which liability is admitted, we hope to see a resolution to your case within 6-12 months. Accidents at work and slipping and tripping matters may take longer. However, GK Solicitors are pro-active and committed in bringing a swift resolution to your personal injury claim.
How much compensation will I receive?
This will depend on the individual circumstances of your case. You will have to be examined by a medical expert who will produce a medical report. From that report, we will be able to predict the level of compensation you may be awarded.
Does it matter that I am in another part of the country?
Distance is not a problem when conducting person injury cases. We can arrange medical examinations anywhere in the country. If we have to issue proceedings, this can be done at your local court.
