Lasting Powers of Attorney Planning for the future
A lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to make choices and decisions about your future care in case there is a time when you cannot make decisions for yourself.
lf you lose the ability to manage your own affairs and there is no registered LPA in place to cover your property and financial affairs, these aspects will have to be dealt through the Court of Protection which is time consuming and costly.
An LPA is a legal tool that allows you to appoint someone to make certain decisions on your behalf. The appointed person can manage your finances for you and can also make decisions relating to your health and welfare.
There are two LPA's available:
LPA for property and Financial Affairs LPA for health and Welfare
It is better to have a plan in place so that the people who you want to manage your affairs can do so. All appointments are conducted in the privacy of your home or care home at not additional cost. Fixed Fees are available for preparation and registration of LPA's so you know exactly what the eventual cost will be.
